Private Lessons

For anyone that is
1) unable to make it to the scheduled classes, OR
2) prefers one on one instruction, OR
3) is interested in learning about very specific topics

the best bet is to do private lessons. With private lessons, I get together with people at our home studio and go over just about anything and everything that you might be interested in learning. From initital learning of aperture and shutter speed, to business, marketing, pricing, flash techniques or even image critique and Photoshop editing, we can do anything and we can do it at your pace whether that be fast or slow.

Basic Private Lessons **
$100 per hour for 1 person, $40 per hour per additional person (typical lessons last two hours)
Covers camera theory and fundamentals in a lecture style.
Learn aperture, shutter speed, iso, white balance, and exposure compensation

Intermediate Private Lessons **
$150 per hour for 1 person, $55 per hour per additioanl person (typical lessons last 1.5-2 hours)
Once you understand the camera theory and have spent time going through your manual and learning how to adjust the controls we talked about, the next step is to do some hands-on practice where you can learn your camera operation in different situations to achieve specific looks in your images. This will also cover basic Photoshop use using Adobe Photoshop Elements along with a critique of current or past images to evaluate the settings that you used. It is suggested to bring a disk or flash drive with photos that you want me to look through.

Advanced Private Lessons **
$250 per hour for 1 person, $75 per hour per additional person (typical lessons last 1.5-2 hours)
Covers anything and everything beyond basic camera operation including workflow, raw processing, Adobe Photoshop (full version), flash techniques, business consultation, etc.

** For any private lessons scheduled we will require a $100 retainer fee that will get applied to your lessons. This fee is only refundable if your lessons are canceled or rescheduled at least 5 days in advance.
