In March of 2012, I will be taking a group of aspiring photographers to one of the most unique places in the world. We will be exploring the landscape of the Southwest. This will be a one week trip and it is specifically designed to hit some of the major attractions throughout Arizona and Utah. A lot of work has gone into planning this trip so that we will be at the best places possible, at the best time of day to make sure we capture the magical light.
We will start/end the trip in Las Vegas. Some of the places we will be going include Zion Canyon National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Arches National Park, Mesa Verde National Park, Canyon de Chelly, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Grand Canyon, and Route 66. We'll be going over 1700 miles on a whirlwind tour of the Southwest.
There will be some amazing photographic opportunities!!! This is not a vacation where you will be relaxing by the pool and souvenir shopping. This will be a photographic safari where you will come home with amazing photos from amazing locations. To get those amazing photos, you will have to put in work and effort. Some of the locations we are going, we need to get out there really early to capture the best morning light which includes getting up at 6:00am to get get to our sunrise location. Trust me, it will be worth it!!!
Expected trip dates and cost are as follows:
3/21 late afternoon starting in Las Vegas through 3/27 evening ending in Las Vegas.
$2300 and here's what that includes:
Transportation during the workshop (20+ passenger mini bus which will provide ample space for 7-15 people on the trip), payment and gratuity for driver, photography instruction, hotels, snacks and water on the bus, entrance fees to various parks.
These costs are assuming double occupancy in the rooms. For single occupancy you will be adding roughly $300.
Last I checked, direct flights from Detroit were between $250-$350 which would be a separate fee.
Details subject to change prior to booking.
The payment schedule is as follows:
$200 non-refundable deposit due immediately to hold your seat on the bus (the plan ticket is your responsibility)
$900 non-refundable deposit due 1/23/12.
Balance due
2/21/12. The balance amount will change depending on if you are doing single or double occupancy.
