sorry to say that this is the ONLY picture we have of us from the last few months!
Dear friends, family, clients, etc,
I know that it's not the end of the second quarter yet, but we've just had so much going on, that we didn't want to wait another month and half before sending out our next newsletter.
Make sure to see the bottom of this letter for details of the contest we're having to give away a free photo shoot!

The end of February we had just returned from the commercial shoot we had in the Dominican Republic and we spent the first part of March getting caught back up and just doing a few small jobs here and there. We started doing some long term planning for our business AND personal life. We decided that since we had been married now for almost 6 years, it was time for us to start having a family. We had no idea what Gods plan was for us, but we knew what we wanted. We feel really blessed that Cheridy got pregnant the first week that we tried. Her due date is the end of November. To the right is the first of many baby pics!
When you see Cheridy do NOT touch her stomach...she won't like that!! :)

We returned from the travel workshop and then only had a few days to get ready to go back to the Dominican Republic for the second part of our commercial job down there. This time, the job was much more structured and we had specific images that we needed to shoot including many using models that had been hired and flown in from Miami. It was quite a different experience for us but a great chance to learn about a different part of this industry. One of the goals was to capture images of the adventure sports that attract tourists to the Dominican, so we shot everything from white water rafting, to cliff jumping. One day we went up in a helicopter and shot some aerial views of the coastline and another day I had to repel down a waterfall to shoot some canyoning shots. Thankfully we had no travel problems like last time when our passports were stolen! However, we could have done without the bug bites that took two weeks to stop itching!!!

Right after the Dominican, I started teaching an advanced photography class which has been a lot of fun. I had a number of students in my basic class that were interested in getting deeper into photography so it's been a real pleasure for me to have the opportunity to share some of the knowledge that I've gained over the last few years.
As we get ready for the summer wedding season, we've been trying to do as much long term planning as we could. I took a business workshop down in Illinois where I met with some consultants who helped me to better understand our business. The workshop wasn't exactly what I had expected, but I still came away with a lot. One of the goals was to figure out how to run a successful business without completely sacrificing our personal lives. We've been working 80+ hours per week and it's not a good thing especially once the baby comes. To help aid in this matter, we found a very talented album design company that will be doing a large percentage of our album designs while still maintaining the same look and feel of the past sample designs that I used to do.
Now that the weather has been getting nicer, we've been trying to get a lot of engagement shoots done before we get too busy with weddings. We've had a lot of fun getting to know some of our 2007 wedding clients better while doing the engagement pictures.
Cheridy and I also do pre-marital mentoring for couples at our church and we just finished a session and would like to congratulate Kelly and Steve on their upcoming wedding!! |

| In other news, Cheridy has left her part time job and is now working for our photography business fulltime. She's been able to help out with some of the phone calls and emails and help free up a little bit more of my time so that I can work on designing new products. |
Our condo in Warren has still not sold
and the second mortgage is definitely a burden for us. If any of you have bulletin boards at work, we are asking that you do us a huge favor and print the advertisement at the link below and hang them at your office building. We would REALLY appreciate that!!

An Educational Blurb:
For those of you looking to buy a new digital camera, don't get wrapped up in the "megapixel race". Camera manufacturers have been battling for years to come out with the newest cameras with the most number of megapixels. In actuality, a 4 MP camera should be enough resolution for everyday use unless you plan on doing big enlargements. Don't buy your camera based on megapixels alone. Instead, I would suggest reading reviews online on sites such as cnet.com and dpreview.com. Unfortunately digital technology changes so quickly that we are not up to speed on the latest consumer cameras and are not qualified to give advice on buying a consumer camera.

2007 Summer Contest (for a free photo shoot) :
We are really excited to be having our first ever contest. In our efforts to further differentiate our style from that of a traditional photography studio, we are looking to do photo shoots that are completely unique and different. The contest involves coming up with the most unique, fun, wacky, crazy, scary, etc. etc. idea for a photo shoot and the one that we think will provide the coolest photos will have that photo shoot done for free. This is open to individuals, groups of friends, families, co-workers...anyone. However, if it will be a group photo, we would like to keep the group size limited to about 5 or 6. The ideas can be stuff that's simple and just a family fun activity like a water balloon fight to something out there like having a group of people wearing suits jump off a pier into a lake. We want you to come up with ideas that might either be activities that you already do and enjoy that aren't typically photographed OR come up with something totally crazy. Please see the link below for more information. Please also forward this link to anyone who you think might be able to come up with some fun ideas!
