Dear friends,
We just wanted to check in with everyone really quick. Life has been fantastic yet really busy for the Mukherjees and Arising Images. Now that the weather is good, we're in our primary photographing season and doing everything from weddings, high school seniors, commercial shoots, fun family pictures, etc. etc.
This year we decided to block off some weekends so that we could have some family time mixed in with the craziness of the summer work months. This is actually the first year where we don't have any big travel plans. We're going to stay closer to home and hang out with Mayz. We did get him a passport, but I don't think we're going to end up using it this summer.

Summer Contest Extension
We announced our summer family fun contest with little time to enter. We received a number of emails from people that planned on making submissions but the deadline came too soon, so for all of you that haven't submitted your entries yet, we're extending the deadline to July 10.
The prize is a free photo shoot, two one hour massages from Revitalize Day Spa along with a great surprise gift from us.
For more information, you can go here:

Here's a few pics from last years contest winners...the Wilsons.

High School Seniors
We're really starting to ramp up with photographing high school seniors this summer too. We typically get swamped in the second half of the summer, so it's just the beginning of that season now, but we've been having a lot of fun getting back into it.

Kingdom Walker Contest Winner
On a related note, we ran a contest for high schoolers called the Kingdom Walkers. It was a contest to identify high school juniors (going into their senior year) who are a role model for their peers. They had to be nominated based on this criteria:
1. a person who puts others before themselves.
2. someone who takes care of the sick, hungry, and needy.
3. a person who serves whether it be in their own church, the nearest city, or the other side of the world.
4. someone with a humble spirit.
The winner of the contest was Sharon Messina from Cousino High School. Sharon is an inspiration to a lot of people and it has been a pleasure to get to know her.

Engagement Photos
The warm weather has us swamped with photo shoots which is just the way we like it. We've done a number of engagement shoots over the last few months that have been a blast. Engagement shoots provide us a great opportunity to get to know the wedding clients who we will be photographing later in the year. We get to go hang out in a more casual environment, walk, talk, and shoot some fun pics.

Wedding Season
We're currently in full swing for our wedding season. We've already had some outstanding weddings this year from Detroit to Lansing, all the way to Colorado. We've had some gorgeous brides, crazy bridal parties, and even got to see Morris Day and the Time perform at one of our weddings.

Below are a few highlight photos and here's a link to our wedding website: www.ArisingWeddings.com

We were fortunate to have one of our weddings from last summer published in the most recent Knot Michigan magazine. You can see the pictures and read the full article about Kasey and Jordan's wedding here:

The Starks
Ever since having Mayz, more and more we're appreciating the value of family portraits. That appreciation increased tremendously last week when we were blessed with the opportunity to photograph the Stark family. They are friends of ours from church and a few months ago they're beautiful little daughter Eve was diagnosed with Leukemia and ever since, they've been dealing with all the treatments that come along with battling cancer. Those treatments are difficult for anyone especially a five year old girl. We were just really thankful to have been given the opportunity to document the joy that their family still has even as they go through these struggles. We just ask that anyone reading this prays for their little daughter Eve and for her treatments and recovery. To read more about Eve and her progress, visit her blog at EveStark.com

Within our own family, everything has been going fantastic and we're loving life!
Since we're in our busy season, Cheridy and I have struggled a little bit with trying to find the time to get everything done that needs to be done so we're really hoping to hire more people at some point soon to help lighten the load. However, every day we get to do what we enjoy so it's hard to complain about that.
Cheridy is loving every minute of being a mom, and one of our favorite things ever is listening to Mayz giggle. Check out this 6 second video clip of his giggles:

A couple weeks ago I spent some time doing some video editing and put together a montage of video clips and still images of Mayz' first seven months. For anyone that is interested in seeing it, it's posted on our blog here: http://arisingimages.com/blog/video-of-mayz-first-seven-months/418/
