Portraits FAQs (4/3/2010)
The session fee includes the photo shoot itself, processing of the images, and one ordering session. Sessions also include a print credit that varies in amount depending on which type of shoot you select. The print credit must be used within one month of the photo shoot and during your in-studio ordering session only. The credit will go towards any prints and products ordered. All other prints and products are purchased separately.
What if the weather is bad on the day of my shoot?
In the event of severe weather, rain or snow on the day of
your shoot, we can cancel the shoot and do our best to reschedule. If the weather is warmer or colder than you
had hoped, that is NOT a valid reason to cancel a shoot and you will lose your
booking fee.Overcast skies are
definitely NOT a reason to cancel. In
fact, cloudy/overcast days can provide the best light for photography…much
better than a sunny day due to softened light and less harsh shadows.Canceling a photo shoot due to weather is at
the discretion of Arising Images and is usually determined approximately two
hours before the shoot.
Can you explain the
booking process?
Once you receive and read your info packet that you will
get by email, you can pay the session fee by check or credit card and then
we will have your session booked on the date on the calendar. We will email you a contract that you can
either mail or fax back.
For outdoor photo shoots we usually try to schedule them very early or later in
the day when the sun is not directly overhead because the light is much more
interesting. This limits the number of
shoots we can do in a week so scheduling can be limited in peak seasons. At the time you book your shoot, we will
also want to book a date for your ordering session where you can see your
pictures and place your order. Payment for the session fee will be required
at time of booking and the photo shoot will not be put on the calendar until
this is received.
Can you explain the retouching process?
We really want the images to pop and therefore any images that you see will be edited and retouched to some degree at no additional cost. In some cases it might be a simple color boost, and other cases, it might be full retouching and softening of skin, whitening of teeth and eyes, etc. Any images that are ordered will receive full retouching if they haven’t already been treated. Any extensive retouching will be done at $75 per hour but this is VERY rarely necessary.
How long does it take to receive my print order once the order is placed?
You should expect approximately 3 weeks for just prints and approximately 6-8 weeks if you ordered any products that include framing. Rush services are available on both printing and framing.
What if I don’t like the pictures?
If you have a complaint about ANYTHING, please contact us so we can discuss it and find out what we might be able to do to fix it. If we can’t fix the problem then we will refund your money for any unsatisfactory prints.
Do you have a referral program of any kind?
Yes we do.
We appreciate
any referrals and want to make it worth your while to do so.
For every booked referral we receive from you, you have the option of receiving cash or a studio credit.
Please inquire for more details if you are interested in participating.
Do you have a studio?
We do have a studio that we can do the photos in, however, we also love to shoot outdoors or on location to provide more variety and uniqueness where the light and scenery are always different and more interesting.
Where are you located at and what
are your hours?
We have a home-based studio in Rochester Hills, MI that runs
on appointment only. Please do NOT come
without an appointment first.
