Photographing babies during their first year is a really rewarding experience for us. They grow and change so fast, it's incredible! When they are first born, they are so tiny and fragile and even within the first month, they can look completely different. Our goal as photographers is to document those changes in a very real way. We don't use any gimmicky props. We want to capture babies as they are and capture the real expressions whether that's laughing, crying, sleeping, a big yawn, etc. We ask that parents bring anything that might be personal to their children including blankets, toys...anything. Those are the type of things that we would prefer be in the photographs as opposed to generic studio props and those are the things that will be really fun to look back on in a few years.

The Process:
The first step in the process is the initial booking. Before most people book, the question that everyone asks is "How much will it cost". That is a very tough question because it depends on what you do with the photos.
We want to create images and products that will become family heirlooms that will be past down to your children and their children. To do that we come up with creative things that can be done with the photos. To help you to understand the whole process and know what is available, how much it costs, how the whole process works, how to prepare, what to wear, etc. we have an information packet that we will send you.
Once you receive the packet, you can look everything over and call us with any questions. Once you are ready to book we will send you a copy of our portrait contract which you can fill out along with providing us the session fee to book the date on the calendar.
A standard session fee is $375 of which up to $175 comes back as a credit that can be used at the time of ordering. The amount of the credit will depend on the details of the photo shoot itself including what we're doing and where we're doing it and that can be discussed before booking. Average investments can be upward of $1000 but there are no minimums or maximums and every package is custom designed for each client.
Our most popular plan for babies is our "First Year" plan. Since babies change so much during the first year, it's important to document the multiple phases. Our "First Year" plan includes 3 photo shoots and lots of other fun products and the best part is that everything included is over 40% off our regular rates. Make sure to inquire for more details. The three photo shoots would take place between 0-1 month, 3-5 months, 9-12 months.
2) The photo shoot(s) will take place on the scheduled date/time and a few of our favorite photos from the shoot will be posted on our blog. The photos will then be edited and prepped for your ordering session and we pre-design some ideas of what you might want to do with the photos.
3) You will get to see and order your photos during your ordering session which can take an hour for someone that is prepared or over two hours for someone that is not. Anyone that wants to make decisions during the ordering session needs to be there. In the packet of information that we'll send you, it will contain information about how to prepare for the ordering session.
During the ordering session, you and anyone else you choose will come to our home-studio and we will project the photos on a large screen and help you to make decisions of which images to buy and what to do with them.
