Engagements shoots can be one of the best things that a couple can do before getting married. The photo shoot itself provides a time to become more comfortable in front of the camera and to get all the jitters and nervousness out of your system. In todays society, the wedding album is one of the major products that comes from wedding photography to show off the wedding photos. However, not too many people are decorating the walls of their house with lots of wedding photos. Instead, many couples are using their engagement photos for that because they are typically more casual and more representive of who the couple is at that stage in life. The photos can range from fun, sexy, fashiony, etc.
To view some engagement photos, go to our wedding website at www.ArisingWeddings.com and once you enter the site, in the bottom left corner will be a "galleries" button. There is an entire gallery of engagement shoot photos there. |
The Process:
The first step in the process is the initial booking. Before most people book, the question that everyone asks is "How much will it cost". That is a very tough question because it depends on what you do with the photos.
We want to create images and products that will become family heirlooms that will be past down to your children and their children. To do that we come up with creative things that can be done with the photos. To help you to understand the whole process and know what is available, how much it costs, how the whole process works, how to prepare, what to where, etc.etc. we have an information packet that we will send you.
Once you receive the packet, it will include a copy of our portrait contract which you can fill out along with providing us the session fee to book the date on the calendar.
The session fee is $275 which includes the first hour of the photo shoot along with a print credit that can be used to purchase a few small prints. Average sales can be upward of $1500 but there are no minimums or maximums.
If you already have a wedding contract with us, you do not need to fill out a contract and most likely the engagement shoot is already included in your packet.
2) The photo shoot will take place on the scheduled date/time and a few of our favorite photos from the shoot will be posted on our blog. The photos will then be edited and prepped for your ordering session and we pre-design some ideas of how you might want to present the photos.
3) You will get to see and order your photos during your ordering session which can take an hour for someone that is prepared or over two hours for someone that is not. Anyone that wants to make decisions during the ordering session needs to be there. In the packet of information that we'll send you, it will contain information about how to prepare for the ordering session.
During the ordering session, you and anyone else you choose will come to our home-studio and we will project the photos on a large screen and help you to make decisions of which images to buy and what to do with them.
